Diagnosed as level 2 ASD, non-verbal (not speech delay) ?

Our child Mei Mei (nickname), was diagnosed with autistic in December 2023 at Paediatric Department in government hospital. Prior to that, we got the referral letter from both private child specialist clinic and also government clinic for further diagnosis. Without wasting time, we have decided to send our child to EIP centre (Early Intervention Programme) since April 2023 before we get the hospital appointment.

In December 2023, the specialist diagnosed our child with level 2 autistic, non-verbal and mild hyperactivity disorder. She was diagnosed as non-verbal autistic and not speech delay. That time she was 4 years and 8 months. When we got the official diagnosed as non-verbal and autistic level 2, we were really very sad and worry about her condition.

Starting from April 2023, our child has been on different types of therapies such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, attending EIP for about 2 years plus. At home, we will practise the methods and follow the guidance that we learn from the therapy centres to help our child. Besides that, we also learn different methods on how to help autistic child through online and practise at home with our child.

We have been consistently engaging in occupational therapy, speech therapy, EIP at different therapy centre. Besides this we also practising consistently at home with our child since April 2023. However, our child overall improvement was not significant after continuously trying out so many methods for the past 2+ years. Progress report from the therapy centre show that only physical development improves, the rest of the development such as cognitive, communication, social emotional and adaptive behaviour all remains weak.

Due to the slow progress, we as the parents are very concerned and started to do study and research on alternative method since May 2025. We found that massage therapy significantly helping special needs kids to improve in many aspects. We developed one complete set of massage therapy that targeted at special needs kids' symptoms. We apply this massage therapy on our child every single day since end of 2025. Within 6 months, her progress is very encouraging and surpass all the past 2+ years progress. Before this, our child only improves 20-30% in 2+ years duration. But, after we apply our self-developed massage therapy, she shows huge improvement from her previous condition.

Our massage therapy focuses on special needs kids' main symptoms such as weak cognitive progress, slow learning ability, hyperactivity, impulsivity, non-verbal, speech delay, tantrums, awareness of own body and so on.
